Types of wood

RED OAK — hard wood, nice rich scent, lasts longest, burns clean, great cooking wood, BTU 34.4-36.6

EUCALYPTUS — best value, heavy hard wood, lasts longer, more ash, nice flames, BTU 32.5-34.5

ALMOND — hardwood, great for grilling and smoking, BTU 33

PINE — softwood, natural pine scent, easy to start, BTU 19.3-21.7

70/30 MIXED FIREWOOD — very popular, consider mixing hard and soft woods. Softwood starts easier and hardwood burns longer. We currently provide eucalyptus, Chinese elm, pine, redwood and fruit woods.

BTU (British Thermal Unit) is a measure of heat content.

Wood sizes

A full cord, palletized, awaits delivery at our yard in south Los Angeles.

A cord of wood is stacked 4′ x 4′ x 8′, 128 cubic feet.
A half cord is 4′ x 4′ x 4′, 64 cubic feet.
A quarter cord is 2′ x 4′ x 4′, 32 cubic feet.
